From A to B explores walking as a meditation - small temporal movements, observations in variance of light, shadow and surface. The activity of walking and photographing enables an experience of landscape through duration rather than a discrete isolated moment - aligning the mind, eye, body and environment in a unified experience. In these diptychs the subjective encounter is intertwined with the material reality of spaces and places expanding the experience of everyday locations.
The photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson once remarked that ‘photography is an action, painting a meditation’. These photographic diptychs are located between these poles, the contemplation of two decisive moments generating a third ‘meditative space’.
